JJNeepinFilms INC is an independent and Indigenous production company based in Winnipeg, Canada.
Founded by JJ and Justina Neepin in 2012, the pair focus on stories close to their hearts.

JJ Neepin is an Indigenous Director and Writer and is a member of the Fox Lake Cree Nation.

JJ is the founder of JJNeepinFilms INC. and has screened many of her works at festivals worldwide.

She began her TV career directing for several documentary series including APTN’s Taken and Michif Country.

In 2022, JJ moved from documentary to scripted television and directed an episode of CTV’s Hudson & Rex, season 5. In Spring of 2024, she directed an episode of CTV’s Acting Good, season 3..

 

JJ has written, directed and produced several short films with her company JJNeepinFilms INC.

In between shows, JJ takes every opportunity to learn and improve her skills, ready for the next challenge put in front of her. One of her main goals is to make her first feature Luminous and to eventually create and Showrunner her own television series. When she finds time to relax, JJ enjoys reading and watching true crime, binge-watching Netflix documentaries, reading manga, and writing more stories.

Justina Neepin at Vancouver International Women in Film Festival

Justina Neepin is a Cree producer and filmmaker living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a graduate of the University of Manitoba. After winning the inaugural RBC Emerging Filmmaker pitch competition at the Gimli Film Festival, she formed a production company with her sister JJ Neepin, called JJNEEPINFILMS.
The pair have produced several short films that have played at numerous National and International Film Festivals. Justina is also the acting President of the Indigenous Filmmakers Association and one of the co-founders of the Indigenous Film Summit.

When Justina isn’t working, she volunteers her time with the Winnipeg Indigenous Filmmakers Collective, DGC BIPOC Board and teaching workshops.
